As I think of how to begin, part of me is just in shock that another year has flown by. 10 years ago I started blogging and quit because I wasn’t doing it “right.”
Last year around this time, I was so stuck. My mindset, my career, my feelings about myself. All of it. I started blogging initially as a creative outlet. I loved writing and I wanted the blog world to have more transparency. I felt I could help and off I went. I truly started with the intent to help others see that it’s ok to not have it all figured out.
Because I had quit blogging all those years ago, I knew this time I just had to START even though I might not have it all figured out. So I did. And I’m so proud of myself for doing that.
I initially thought I was helping others, but starting this blog has ended up helping me. I found my stride again at work, my confidence went up, I started to advocate for what I wanted, and I took risks. All because I bought a domain name and an Instagram profile.
Eventually things started to evolve into sharing every day style for women who might not be a size 2, and how I style things for my body type. I also try to share life hacks and local finds along the way, with a focus on boutiques. And, if I’m honest, it will likely continue to evolve.
35 blog posts and 21 collaborations later, I cannot believe how fortunate I’ve been to have partnered with fantastic brands who believed in me and took a chance. It has been the essence of my blog and supporting brands is one of my favorite things to do. ?
Lastly, I just need to give a major thanks to my friends and followers. Everyone has been SO supportive, encouraging, and engaging. I am not sure I could keep blogging without all of you. I’ve made friends doing this, and for that I’ll be forever grateful. I will be continuing my mission of bringing real, honest content to you as much as I possibly can.
And with that, I wanted to leave you with some of my favorite pictures from my first year of blogging.
