MPLS Local Favorites: Boutiques, Home Decor, and Restaurants

This post has been on my mind for a LONG time and I’m finally excited to share it with you all! Minnesota is such a great place to live, and specifically Minneapolis has had my heart for nearly 10 years now. I’ve found a lot of great shops, so it was hard to limit myself to 3 of each. There are likely more that should be on this list, but as a ‘suburbian,’ I wanted to focus on areas of the greater metro that may not get as much attention. Without further ado, let’s begin!

Clothing Boutiques

Kittsona – St. Louis Park West End

The perfect blend of clothing, decor and unique gifts, Kittsona opened in 2011 at The Shops in West End. I love browsing this store when I am in the area and they always have on trend clothing items. For those not local, you can shop online as well!

Apricot Lane Boutique – Maple Grove

Before I was a Brand Ambassador, I was a customer who adored this shop. Although there are several locations in the twin cities, they are all independently franchised with varying styles of clothing. I feel like this store was filled with my style in mind. It’s hard to leave without something! If you find yourself here, mention “Heart of Heather” for a 10% discount on your purchase.

Lily and Violet – Linden Hills

It’s pretty difficult to argue with a store that is nestled right in a cute and cozy red house. I love the location and all of the fun pieces this store has to offer. Cute and on trend clothing and plenty of gift ideas as well. A perfect Saturday shopping destination.

Home Decor

Mama’s Happy – St. Louis Park, St. Paul & Independence

If you are into shabby chic, this is your place. Every time I walk in this store I am just in awe by the talent and gorgeousness of the decor. You will always find something unique and handmade. So many conversation starters for your home.

The General Store of Minnetonka

The first time I walked into this magical store, I’m pretty sure I wandered for at least 2 hours. Around Christmas, this place is decked to the nine’s and honestly is absolutely beautiful. And busy. I’ve never left this store empty handed. Also comes equipped with a cute little cafe with delicious menu items.

The Foundry Home Goods – Minneapolis

Modern, sleek, and downright gorgeous. I love the simplicity and loveliness of this adorable store. It is unassuming yet holds perfect elements to make any house a home.

Red Cow – North Loop, Edina, St. Paul, Mpls

I always recommend this place no matter where you live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Area. One of the best hamburgers I’ve had and always great service with a stellar tap list.

Victor’s 1959 Cafe – Minneapolis

I always, always recommend Victor’s to literally everyone who asks. It’s a small, hole in the wall cuban-style restaurant with THE BEST BREAKFAST I’ve ever had. They have a great lunch menu too.

Main Street Farmer – St. Michael

I must give credit to my friends on this one, but I highly recommend taking a trip up I-94 for this one. They make everything from SCRATCH and use local ingredients that are always fresh. The Chef’s Burger made from grass-fed beef is INSANE. The whole menu is full of delicious options.

Have you been to any of these places? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear your experience!
